HISTORY

                    Calawis National High School is situated at the treacherous part of Sitio Paikulan, Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City needed at the foothills of Sierra Madre Mountain Range. This school is the farthest national high school in the division of Antipolo City. CNHS is approximately 22 km away from the city hall. The said school was opened at the start of the SY 2000 piloted by it Teacher-In-Charge Mr. Romeo S. Yusay Jr. with three (3) teachers handling 65 first year students housed the two (2) elementary classrooms Calawis Elementary Compound. The school was then known as Antipolo National High School Calawis Extension headed by its principal Ms. Melinda D. Gedang.

 

                    As per DECS order No. 5 s. 1989 ANHS Calawis Extension is now organized as one of the National High Schools in the city received May 12, 2002. SY 2002-2003 when six classrooms, (2) two-storey DPWH type building started to build and it was through the generosity of Mr. Honorio Rantugan Sr, a native of that sitio, who donated a parcel of his land measuring a 9,755 sq.m. The land was known as Manila Seedling Bank and was finally converted into and Educational Institution which is now categorized as a complete school.

At present CNHS has an enrolment of 312 which covers the four levels, with a total of eleven (11) teachers and one (1) principal. The school even has its own extension which is known as CNHS-Apia Extension and their own Head Teacher with seven (8) teachers, with 99 total enrolments covering the first to fourth year level for the school year 2014-2015.
